stage 1

appraisal and definition of the project - inception

Establish the client requirements and preferences, assess user needs and options, appointment of necessary consultants, establish the project brief including project objectives, priorities, constraints, assumptions, aspirations and strategies.

 

Services: Assist in developing a clear project brief, attend project initiation meeting, advise on the other consultants and services required, define the consultant’s scope of work and services, determine availability of data, drawings and plans relating to the project, provide necessary information within the agreed scope of the project to the other consultants.

 

stage 2

design concept

Prepare and finalise the project concept in accordance with the brief including the scope, scale, character, form, function and preliminary programme and viability of the project.

 

Services: Attend design and consultants’ meetings, prepare concept design based on the client’s brief, consult with the other consultants and incorporate their input, coordinate design interfaces with the other consultants, select general construction materials and intended finishes, prepare and submit presentation of the design concept to the client for approval, liaise, cooperate and provide necessary information to the client, principal consultant and other consultants.

 

stage 3

design development

Develop the approved concept to finalise the design, outline specifications, cost plan, financial viability and programme for the project.

 

Services: Attend design and consultants’ meetings, incorporate the client’s detailed requirements into building design, incorporate and coordinate the other consultants’ designs into building design, prepare design development drawings, including draft technical details and outline specifications, liaise, cooperate and provide necessary information to the client, principal consultant and other consultants.
